Oakville Transit adding more services to key routes starting Sept. 6

Oakville Transit is adding more services to major routes, a new route and the addition of a new hub to connect to every GO bus operating in the town starting Sept. 6.

The upcoming service changes are building toward a future Frequent Transit Network plan to increase service frequency, support the town’s growth and adapt to the needs of the community.

Oakville Transit service changes starting Sept. 6, include:

• Route 1 – Trafalgar: increased access to downtown Oakville through Kerr Street, while maintaining frequency of the current route;
• Route 14/14A – Lakeshore West: reintroduction of coverage along Reynolds Street, and connecting the Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre and the Oakville Public Library — Central Branch, to the transit network, with increased service coverage along Lakeshore Road West;
• Route 37 – Glenorchy: additional service area coverage connecting to King’s Christian Collegiate for specific school bell time trips for students to utilize transit for their daily commute;
• Route 80: a new special route to Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School, connecting students in North Oakville to Holy Trinity CSS; and
• Highway 407/Bronte Road Park & Ride will be added as a destination hub for the Palermo West/Bronte Creek Ride On-Demand zone — the final addition needed to connect to every GO bus that operates in Oakville.

Oakville Transit’s five-year business plan includes a roadmap to guide transit service planning from 2025-29.
