Hamilton police appeal to public after morning gunshots on East Mountain

Hamilton police are investigating reports of gunshots on the city’s East Mountain early Tuesday morning and are asking the public for evidence in the incident.

Police responded to a “shots fired call” around 4:45 a.m. in the residential area of Rymal Road East and Atessa Drive.

No one was injured, but officers remain on scene as the investigation continues.

CHCH News can confirm that a police investigation team, including detectives, is at 16 Atessa Dr., where they are focusing on a grey SUV with apparent bullet holes and nearby gun shell casings.

Residents in the area told CHCH News that they heard car tires screeching away this morning after a series of loud bangs.

Neighbours are being asked to check doorbell or home security cameras for any suspicious activity.

Anyone who was driving in the area with a dash cam around the time of the incident is also asked to contact Hamilton police at 905-546-4883 or shootingresponseteam@hamiltonpolice.ca.
