Provincial police say one person suffered minor injuries in a shooting on Highway 401 in Mississauga Friday morning.

The OPP say they received reports of gunfire at around 12:20 a.m. on the highway near Mavis Road.

Authorities say one person was brought to the hospital with minor injuries after they were hit by debris from a broken window.

The investigation remains ongoing.

CHCH News has reached out to provincial police for comment on what prompted the shooting but have yet to hear back.
