Drivers can resume travelling through the Claremont Access after Hamilton police reopened the roads Friday afternoon despite icy conditions.
Hamilton police temporarily closed down part of the Claremont Access due to extremely icy road conditions earlier in the day.
Officers reported several vehicles getting stuck, before emergency crews were deployed to clear them from the roadway.
The City of Hamilton was able to dispatch salt trucks to treat the road.
Officers posted on X at around 2:04 p.m. altering drivers that the road was reopened, but say to continue to drive with caution.
✅ Update: Claremont Access Reopened
The Claremont Access has now reopened in both directions. Crews were able to clear the vehicles and the roadway after earlier icy conditions.
