Metrolinx is reminding GO Transit riders of planned construction set to take place this weekend on the Lakeshore West line.

The transit agency says GO trains will run between Niagara Falls GO and Aldershot GO. But there will be no GO train service between Aldershot GO and Union Station.

It says GO buses will run between West Harbour GO and Union Station Bus Terminal. But there will be no GO Transit service at Appleby GO, Bronte GO and Port Credit GO.

If transit users are travelling towards Hamilton, they are being advised to expect a 15 to 25-minute connection time from replacement bus trips to regular Route 18 bus trips at Aldershot GO.

Commuters can also take the Route 18E bus from Aldershot GO about 30 minutes earlier or 30 minutes later than the usual route 18 trips.

There will also be some late-evening service adjustments this Friday:

  • The 11:24 p.m. train departing West Harbour GO to Union Station will not run.
  • The 11:47 p.m. and 12:47 a.m. trains departing Union Station to West Harbour GO will not run.
  • The 12:17 a.m. train departing Union Station to Aldershot GO will not run.
  • GO bus routes 18N and 18P will be available at Oakville GO making all stops to Aldershot and West Harbour GO.

Metrolinx says due to ongoing track conditions between Niagara Falls GO and Confederation GO, trains are required to operate at a reduced speed.

The full list of Lakeshore West service adjustments and alternate route options are available online.
