SIU investigates after serious crash on Centennial Parkway sends teen to hospital

Ontario’s police watchdog is asking local residents for information after a crash on Centennial Parkway North Saturday led to a 15-year-old passenger being sent to hospital for a serious injury.

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) says at around 2:30 a.m. Hamilton police witnessed two vehicles travelling northbound on the parkway at a high rate of speed.

They say one of the two vehicles fled the area, and officers commenced following the other vehicle: a Kia Rio.

Investigators say the Rio became involved in a crash with multiple vehicles in the area near the intersection of Centennial Parkway and South Service Road.

A 15-year-old passenger, who was in the Rio, was transported to hospital for a serious injury.
