Ontario Provincial Police say they’ve responded to about 200 collisions and 150 calls for service between Sunday and Monday morning due to the snow.

Const. Kerry Schmidt posted a video to the OPP Highway Safety Division X account.

Schmidt says it would be safest to stay home and wait for the plows to clear the roads.

But he says if you must hit the roads, clear your car of snow entirely before heading out, leave extra room between you and the other cars on the road and use your headlights at all times of day.

Sgt. Ed Sanchuk of the OPP West Region also took to social media to advise commuters of several crashes on Highway 401 in Oxford County Monday morning.

Sanchuk is advising the community of similar driving tips and says that many of the highways are still slick and snow-covered.
