Police seek suspects after West Lincoln car break-in and assault

A homeowner in West Lincoln was hurt after attempting to scare off suspects breaking into their vehicles early Tuesday morning.

Police say the altercation began after two suspects broke into vehicles at a home in the area of Canborough Road and Caistor Gainsborough Townline Road around 4:45 a.m.

The victim was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators say the suspects fled in a vehicle determined to be stolen from Hamilton, which they abandoned a short distance away.

They then escaped in a 2010 black Dodge Charger that had just been stolen from a property in Haldimand County.

The Ontario license plate on that Dodge Charger is CSFM 216.

Authorities describe the suspects as wearing face coverings. No more details have been provided.
