Niagara Falls babysitter charged in alleged sexual assaults of young girl

A Niagara Falls man has been charged Wednesday in connection with multiple alleged sexual assaults of a teen girl from 2014 to 2024.
Niagara police began an investigation earlier this month after receiving information that a 16-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by an adult male babysitter in Niagara Falls.
Officers charged 31-year-old Nygel Kovacs with sexual assault, sexual interference, and invitation to sexual touching offences.
Kovacs was held in custody pending a video bail hearing at a St. Catharines courthouse Thursday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
