The City of Hamilton says two-way traffic is expected to resume soon, marking a significant milestone in Waterdown’s Grindstone Creek bridge replacement project.

Ward 15 Coun. Ted McMeekin announced online that the south-side, two-lane bridge deck is nearing completion.

McMeekin says the major construction project on Dundas Street remains on schedule and construction of the adjacent sidewalk and associated barrier is underway.

He says throughout October, utilities will be installed on the bridge, while Dundas Street will be reconstructed and reconnected to each end of the south bridge deck.

Traffic control measures will remain in effect during this time. This includes 2 a.m. – 2 p.m. rotational direction of traffic.

McMeekin says stage two of this project is set to begin in late November as two-way traffic will operate all day across the two newly completed bridge lanes while the single north lane is demolished and rebuilt.
