E-bike rider battles life-threatening injuries after collision with car in Fort Erie

A man in his forties is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a Monday afternoon collision between the e-bike he was operating and a car in Fort Erie.

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. in the area of Ridge Road South and Rebstock Road.

The e-bike and a 2021 grey Cadillac XT5 driven by a 61-year-old man collided.

The bike rider was first treated at the scene by Niagara EMS paramedics, then transported to a local hospital and an out-of-region hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit and members of the Forensic Services Unit were called out to support the investigation.
