Federal party leaders continue on the campaign trail

The federal party leaders entered day nine of campaigning today.

Conservative leader Stephen Harper spoke in Markham this morning, insisting legalization of marijuana in Canada would lead to the drug being more available to children. He also said most Canadians agree with him in opposing the legalization of marijuana.

With an eye to former Conservative Senator Mike Duffy’s trial resuming tomorrow, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau is promising to clean up the Senate. Testimony from Stephen Harper’s former right-hand man Nigel Wright is bound to reverberate on the campaign trail.

Meanwhile, N-D-P Leader Tom Mulcair welcomed news that some Quebec unions are going to back his party and not the Bloc Quebecois.
