Conservatives have plans for Senate

Some high profile Senators in hot water this year have a lot of people questioning the value and viability of the chamber for sober second thought in Canada.

From Mike Duffy to Mac Harb to Pamela Wallin and more, Canadian Senators have found themselves in plenty of embarassing situations in the past few months.

But now, the Conservatives say they should be able to reform the senate without reopening the constitution. The government has submitted legal arguments to the Supreme Court of Canada in a reference it sent to the court earlier this year on proposed senate reform legislation Bill C7.
