Brantford police have charged a 41-year-old man after he allegedly crashed into a vehicle while driving drunk.

Officers were called to a single-vehicle collision on Queen St. near Dalhousie St. just before 4 a.m. on Sept. 5.

Police say officers spoke with the driver and observed signs of impairment.

They say the driver initially lied to police about how the collision occurred.

Investigators learned that while the man was driving, he collided with an unoccupied vehicle that was parked at the side of the roadway and then left the scene.

He was arrested and given a breath test which showed he had over twice the legal alcohol limit in his system.
