Queen’s Park took a break from a heated question period this morning to remember one of their own.

Premier Kathleen Wynne spoke about former Niagara regional councillor and NDP MPP Peter Kormos who died last month at the age of 60. “Regardless of where we sit in this legislature, I think we owe a debt of gratitude to these men, who dedicated his life to the province of Ontario.
NDP leader Andrea Horwath said “It’s tough when we lose people, they’ve served a great number of years, done the people’s work for a number of years and I just want to make sure that we’re acknowledging their passing.”
The Ontario legislature also paused for a moment of silence to honour Kormos, who served in the provincial legislature for 23 years. Kormos was found dead in his Welland home on March 30th. An autopsy was done last week, but the cause of death has not been released.
