Toronto’s inside workers union is saying no to a casino.

The workers representative say the casino would overwhelm the city’s cash-strapped social services. The CUPE local represents about 20,000 city employees and says it’s supporting the “No Casino Toronto” campaign, saying it could double the number of problem gamblers. The Toronto Board of Health also voted against the proposed casino in February saying that the benefits of a casino, like job creation, don’t outweigh the negatives.
