Maddie Hood memorial fund

A memorial fund launched in honour of a slain St. Catharines teen is growing quickly.

Over $10 thousand has been donated so far to the Maddie Hood fund, in honour of the 19-year-old United Way worker who was murdered back in July. It’s not clear yet how the money will be used.

Hood’s body was found following a fire in her East Hampton Road basement apartment.

Police have charged Cassell Farnsworth, 19, with first-degree murder and arson.

The investigation into Hood’s death is still ongoing, and police haven’t yet revealed a motive behind her murder.
