Boy drowns at Sherkston Shores

A 12-year-old boy from North York drowned at Sherkston Shores beach in Port Colborne Saturday night.

The boy was swimming with two friends when he slipped under the water around 8:30 pm and did not resurface.

A dive team was called in to recover the boy’s body.

The death of the boy adds to an already tragic weekend as two other children drowned in Lake Erie at Port Burwell Friday.
