Man attacked with hammer in Hamilton

A man is in hospital with serious head injuries, after being attacked in downtown Hamilton Thursday morning.

The victim was found covered in blood near Cannon and Hughson Streets around 2:30am.

He was rushed to hospital where he received treatment.

Police have few details and haven’t been able to interview the victim.

Initial reports said the man had been attacked with a hammer.

Police haven’t been able to provide a description of the attacker.
