Officer accused in sex assault

An investigation is underway in Belleville in connection with an alleged sex assault involving a police officer.

An off duty officer is accused of sexually assaulting a civilian employee of the force.

Both Ontario Provincial Police and the Special Investigations Unit are looking into the matter.
