Second Welland house fire in a week

For the second time this week there has been a house fire in Welland.

Firefighters were called to a home on dieppe street just before 3 Friday morning.

When they arrived they found flames shooting through the roof.

The woman who lives in the house escaped with her dog and called 911 from a neighbour’s home.

Damage is estimated at $80,000 to $100,000.

Fire officials say the blaze is not considered suspicious.
