There are new regulations if you want to get a divorce in Ontario.


A new program hopes to save couples time and money on lawyers — and help ease the emotional toll that comes from going through the court system.

The Ontario government will force every couple hoping to get a divorce to attend an information session about alternatives to going to court. They’ll also have to attend a mediation session.

The expanded province-wide program will cost $8 million dollars a year, but is expected to save much more than that in court costs.
