Tottenham Road crash kills one

Police say there could be a Hamilton connection to the family involved in a deadly crash on Tottenham Road just north west of Schomberg Friday afternoon. A 26-year old man is dead — and three other people — including a pregnant woman were injured in the crash involving a truck and an SUV.

Police say the cement truck hit the Ford Edge SUV from behind at about 1pm. The man who died was a passenger in the car. The driver of the truck was not injured. One of the injured is six-years old who was taken to Sick Kids’ Hospital. Another victim who is six months pregnant and the third person was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital in critical condition. Tottenham Road was closed in both directions between second and third line while the OPP investigated. It was opened late Friday evening. While they still don’t know what caused the crash — police say there was another incident close by — about an hour later.
