Charges have been laid after an alleged abduction in Ottawa.

Police there say Kevyn Menard, 24, has been charged with disobeying a court order. Police say Menard took his two-year-old son at around noon yesterday after attending an outdoor barbeque. The toddler was found safe shortly after an amber alert was issued.

Police say the investigation continues.
