Toronto Raptors fans are fired up tonight. They’re hoping the team can clinch its first round playoff series over the Nets in Brooklyn tonight. And while it’s an away game — the team’s home arena will still be buzzing.
These fans know that the Raptors are relying on their support all the way in Brooklyn. If the team wins tonight, they’ll be advancing to play the Miami Heat.
Thousands of supporters have packed into Maple Leaf Square to get pumped up before the game starts at 7. They’re decked out in Raptors gear, cheering on their favourite players, chanting the playoff slogan “We The North”. This is Toronto’s first time in the playoffs since 2008 and the energy is bringing a lot to the city. Fans are banking on a win tonight and they’re feeling pretty confident.
The Raptors have credited their fans with helping them make it this far, and believe it or not, the Brooklyn Nets have asked their fans to take a cue from Toronto. Thursday they tweeted telling their supporters to take notes from raps fans. Hopefully the crowd in Maple Leaf Square can bring the noise again tonight and send it all the way to Brooklyn.
