Drug arrests in Welland

Five people were arrested following a drug investigation in Welland.

The investigation was focused on the sale of cocaine in an Empire Street apartment building. Police executed a search warrant at the building and at a residence on Briarsdale Crescent.

Police seized more than $1,000 worth of cocaine, $800 in marijuana, small amounts of prescription pills and over $3,000 in cash.

Jason Miller, 26, Donavin Carey, 28, Jonathan Joyce, 25, Donna Hutchings, 25, and Justin McConnell, 26 — all from Welland — face multiple charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
