3rd person arrested in connection with Hamilton car wash break-in

A third person has been arrested in connection with a car wash robbery that happened at the beginning of February, seriously injuring one witness.

The robbery occurred at the Ezee Clean Car Wash located at Highway 8 and Green Rd. in Stoney Creek.

Police say a stolen utility truck drove across Highway 8 shortly after 7 a.m. on Feb. 5 and crashed into the car wash with the intent to rob the business.

A witness to the robbery managed to call police before the suspects hit him with a vehicle.

Reports say the suspects hit the man with the vehicle more than once.

Police arrested Louis Lavont Alexander, 55, of Hamilton and charged him with three counts of break and enter, two counts of possessing property obtained by crime over $5000, and arson.

Two people were previously arrested in connection with this robbery.

On Feb. 14, Investigators arrested and charged 28-year-old Maxwell Swiston of Hamilton with attempted murder and arson, among other offences.

Police then arrested and charged 45-year-old Jason Ward of Hamilton with break-and-enter-related offences.

Police say they continue to investigate as a fourth individual is known to also be involved.
