2 charged in Hamilton car wash break-in that seriously injured man

Hamilton police have arrested and charged two people following a break-in last week that left a man seriously injured.

Officers received multiple reports shortly after 7 a.m. on Feb. 5 after a truck had driven into the Ezee Clean Car Wash at Highway 8 and Green Rd. in Stoney Creek.

Police say the suspects intentionally struck a witness with a pick-up truck, seriously injuring the man.

On Tuesday, investigators arrested and charged 28-year-old Maxwell Swiston of Hamilton with attempted murder and arson, among other offences.

Police then arrested and charged 45-year-old Jason Ward of Hamilton with break-and-enter-related offences.

Detectives continue to investigate and believe there are additional individuals known to be involved in this incident.
