The Toronto Maple Leafs couldn’t hold onto their third period lead in Saturday night’s game, falling 5-4, to the Chicago Blackhawks in an overtime shootout.
Jonathan Toews and Artemi Panarin scored in the shootout to give the Blackhawks the win over the Leafs.
Toronto rookie, William Nylander, scored twice which put the Leafs ahead, 4-2, early in the third, but the team just couldn’t hold on, blowing their lead in the final period of the game.
The Maple Leafs are back in action, Tuesday, when they face Tampa Bay.
The Blackhawks will play against Calgary at home, Monday.
