Video catches driver on the QEW hauling wood with doors and trunk wide open

First Published:

In a video posted to Facebook, a car is seen driving along the QEW near the Skyway bridge with its back doors and trunk wide open carrying lumber and furniture.

“I don’t know what was going through that drivers head. Pretty shocking to see that kind of video.” OPP sergeant Kerry Schmidt

Schmidt pointed out violations and safety concerns with a car driving like this on the highway.

“Driving with the doors wide open, obviously you have potential for items coming out of the vehicle. The loads not being secured, the vehicle being well over width. Visibility, you cant see out your mirrors.”

The OPP say if they had spotted the driver, he or she would have most likely faced charges.
