Province spending $29M on private jet for Doug Ford’s use

VIDEO: The Ford government is spending almost $30 million on a pre-owned private jet for the Premier’s use. Premier Doug Ford’s office says it’ll help with the extensive travel Ford does within Ontario, and to the U.S. amid the tariff war — but opposition leaders are slamming the purchase as a waste of money. NDP Leader Marit Stiles and Interim Liberal Leader John Fraser have taken to calling it Ford’s “gravy plane,” and Ontario’s Taxpayers’ Federation says it’s “outrageous.” But some political experts say there is rationale behind the purchase, and Ontario isn’t the only province to pay for private jets.
