Ottawa pushes defence, affordability, and anti-tariff measures in new budget

Promises of “generational investments” are coming at a great cost for Canadians. The Liberal government rose in the House of Commons to deliver its first budget under Prime Minister Mark Carney. Over the past few months, Carney unveiled several pledges, including support to counter tariffs, increased defense spending, and new measures to improve affordability for Canadians.
