A new and uncertain era is underway in Canada following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s declaration to resign as the leader of the country and the Liberal Party.

While Parliament remains prorogued and the party seeks a successor, the weakened administration faces another tough test after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has ramped up rhetoric about “acquiring” Canada using “economic force.”
