Liberal party to announce new leadership by March 9
In the days since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his intentions to step down as leader of the Liberal Party, members of Parliament have been busy organizing campaigns and trying to shore up support.
Friday, the party announced that the vote to select their next leader will take place on March 9th.
It is hard to believe it was only Monday when the Prime Minister resigned, and we’re ending the week with a clearer picture of who intends to run.
The National Board of Directors met last night and outlined the new rules that each candidate must follow in this nationwide process.
Along with the increased entrance fee for candidates, voter eligibility in Canada will also be different this time around.
Voting will be limited to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
