Grand River First Nations-born actor Graham Greene dies at 73

Tributes continue to pour in for a trailblazing Indigenous actor, who hailed from Oshweken, Six Nations.

Monday, it was announced that performer Graham Greene died in his Stratford home at the age of 73, following a long battle of an unspecified illness.

The man known for his Oscar-nominated role as “Kicking Bird” in the hit movie “Dances with Wolves”, leaves behind quite the resume with nearly 200 credits to his name.

The man from Six Nations reserve here in our region, was once a blue-collar tradesman before launching his acting career.  After 10 years breaking into the industry, he began to etch himself in many memorable roles.
