Tiger Woods recovering after Los Angeles car crash

First Published:

The future of Tiger Woods’ golfing career is uncertain, after he suffered serious injuries in a car crash in Los Angeles.

The 45-year-old golf star underwent extensive leg surgery on Tuesday, after shattering the tibia and fibula in his right leg in multiple locations.

He also suffered additional injuries in his ankle and foot.

Woods is awake, responsive and recovering.

Authorities have not said what caused Woods to hit a road sign, cross over a raised median and two oncoming lanes before toppling down an embankment.

Police have said there is no evidence he was impaired.
