New images from NASA’s Mars rover shows the planet in HD

NASA’s Perseverance Mars Rover has sent back Instagram-worthy photos.

The rover has transmitted the 142 images it took of where it landed a week ago.

The photos were taking using a pair of zoomable colour cameras. Those cameras sit on a mast to make the equivalent to eye level for a six-and-a-half foot tall person.

This location is called Jezero Crater, which is a dry lake bed that’s almost four billions years old.

If you look in the distance you can see the cliff face of an old river delta.

The Perseverance Rover will spend two years roaming the crater searching for signs of ancient life.
