Teen pedestrian in life-threatening condition after struck by car in Grimsby

Niagara police say a teenage girl is in life-threatening condition after a vehicle struck her early Monday morning in Grimsby.

Emergency crews were called to Livingston Ave. shortly before 8 a.m. for reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.

Paramedics brought the pedestrian to an out-of-region hospital.

Police say the driver of the car – also a teenaged girl – remained at the scene.

Police say the closure is expected to last into the afternoon and ask people to use alternative routes.

The NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit and Forensic Services Unit have been called in to determine the cause and circumstances around this collision.
