Stratchona Market officially opened this weekend

First Published:

The Strathcona Market  is now open at 460 York Boulevard and will act as an operations base for Dundurn Market’s popular food delivery program.

The location used to be the home of the Mustard Seed Co-Op until it suddenly closed in late August after it had filed for bankruptcy.

Former directors said the COVID-19 pandemic and changes in shopping habits resulted in the company not being able to pay down its debts to suppliers.

In October the owners of Dundurn Market announced they were taking over the site.

Justin Abbiss is the co-founder of Strathcona Market  says the additional space will help the company to expand its home delivery service and its in-store offerings.

In a post on Instagram they said they couldn’t have asked for a better opening weekend.
