Some Durham District School Board services down after ‘cyber incident’

First Published:

The Durham District School Board says online classes are cancelled Monday after the board’s online and telecommunications systems were subject to a “cyber incident”.

The board, which serves Oshawa and the surrounding region east of Toronto, says it learned of the incident Friday and immediately took steps to secure its network.

The incident caused online class cancellations and knocked out emails and phones for schools across the board.

The board, which has notified police, says it appreciates that the incident “raises a significant privacy concern” and it will share more information when it is available.
