Shots fired overnight in central Hamilton neighbourhood

Police say neighbours awoke to the sound of gunshots in central Hamilton Wednesday night.

Hamilton police say no one was hurt, but confirm that a shooting did happen. The shots were fired around Minto Ave. and Bristol St. at 9:20 p.m.

This is the second shooting to happen just this week – shots were fired into a home on Cannon St. and Balmoral Ave. in the city’s east end early Tuesday morning. People were home at the time but no one was injured.

Police are asking residents in the Central Hamilton area to review their security surveillance cameras between 9 and 9:30 p.m. for any suspicious activity and to contact police at 905-546-3833.
