Police say a shelter-in-place order has been lifted following a bomb threat toward a Fort Erie elementary school Thursday morning.
Officers say a John Brant Public School staff member contacted police after receiving the phone threat shortly after 10:30 a.m.
“The school implemented a shelter-in-place safety procedure out of an abundance of caution,” the force said in a news release.
We are presently on scene and investigating a telephone threat to John Brant School on Ridge in Fort Erie. Out an abundance of safety the school has implemented a shelter in place procedure for children and teachers.

Around noon, officers determined there was no risk or ongoing threat to school members.
Farr Ave. and Highland Dr. were closed between Mill St. and Ridge Rd. North as police investigated.
“Road closures have been lifted and children will continue their school day as scheduled,” the force said in a tweet.
The identity of the suspect remains unknown and there have been no arrests at this time.

This latest threat comes two days after students and staff at Garrison Road Public School in Fort Erie had to shelter-in-place due to a phone threat.
Officers said a staff member contacted police after receiving the threat shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday.
It said nearby Stevensville Public School and Peace Bridge Public School also followed safety procedures, but were lifted soon after.
Police are investigating any connection between the phone threats toward John Brant Public School and Garrison Road Public School.
