Police investigate death of Six Nations woman after body found in Humber River

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has taken over the investigation into the death of a woman whose body was found in Toronto last week.

Toronto police were called to a “suspicious incident” in the Humber River around 10 a.m. on March 8.

The body of 56-year-old Ruth Ann Longboat, of Six Nations of the Grand River, was discovered in the area and police launched a homicide investigation.

The investigation has now been taken over by the OPP, in partnership with the Six Nations Police Service (SNPS).

On Monday, OPP issued a news release advising residents there would be a large police presence in Oshweken over the next few days.

Anyone with information that could help police with the investigation is asked to contact SNPS at 519-445-2811 or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
