Overnight fire causes ‘significant damage’ to apartment building in Hamilton

The Hamilton Fire Department says an overnight fire causes “significant damage” to a downtown apartment building.

Fire crews were called to a report of a fire at in a building at Hunter and Queen streets around 2 a.m. on Monday.


It was a rude awakening for tenants as they were evacuated after the fire broke out.

Fire crews say no one was hurt and everyone got out safely. The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.
