Car wash robbery suspects run over witness

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after witnessing a robbery at a car wash in Stoney Creek and then being chased down and run over by the suspects.

When the owner of Ezee Clean Car Wash in Stoney Creek showed up at the scene, he couldn’t believe his eyes. Scott Murray says that around 7 this morning, a suspect driving the stolen utility truck came from across Highway 8 and crashed into his car wash.

The owner of the business says a man witnessed the suspects driving into the car wash and called the police. Those very same suspects got into a truck, hit the man, backed up, and drove over him again.

Police say due to the serious nature of the injuries, the homicide unit has taken over the investigation.

They’re looking for video of the suspect vehicle, which is described as a dark-coloured, 2-door, Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
