Ontario reported 3,871 cases of COVID-19 as the death toll surpassed 8,000 people.
The positivity rate reported by the province is 7.6 per cent. There were 56,939 tests completed in the last day.
Ontario is reporting 3,871 cases of #COVID19 and over 56,900 tests completed. Locally, there are 1,172 new cases in Toronto, 901 in Peel, 392 in York Region, 292 in Durham and 147 in Ottawa.

The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 is down to 2,248, however the number of patients in ICU is up to a record 884. Of those people in ICU, 620 are on ventilators.
The province administered 120,567 vaccine doses on Wednesday, pushing the total number of vaccines given in the province to over 5 million.
There are 368,403 people in the province who have received both vaccines and are fully vaccinated.
Another 4,245 cases have been marked as resolved.
