Ontario reports 2,578 COVID-19 cases, 24 deaths

Ontario reported 2,578 cases of COVID-19 and 24 deaths on Monday, the lowest daily case change reported in over two weeks.

The numbers come as the province completed 40,301 tests.

The province is reporting the positivity rate at 6.6 per cent. This rate takes into consideration the date tests were administered.

The province says 9,691 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday, bringing the total number of doses given to 209,788 as of 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The number of total vaccinations completed is 21,752.

  • 223 deaths — up six from Sunday
  • 1,416 vaccine doses administered

Halton

  • 7,564 total cases — up 66 from Sunday
  • 6,983 resolved cases
  • 438 active cases
  • 143 deaths
  • 39 in hospital

Brant

  • 1,263 total cases — up 7 from Sunday
  • 1,166 resolved cases
  • 91 active cases
  • 6 deaths
  • 1 in hospital
  • 1,069 vaccine doses administered

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 1,202 total cases — up 8 from Sunday
  • 1,020 resolved cases
  • 139 active cases
  • 38 deaths

Six Nations

  • 129 total cases
  • 122 resolved cases
  • 6 active cases
  • 1 death

There are 1,571 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, including 394 patients in intensive care. Of those in ICU, 303 are on ventilators.

Another 2,578 cases have been marked as resolved.
