It’s been an emotional day for family, friends and neighbours after a mother, two children and a grandmother were killed early Tuesday morning in a Port Colborne house fire. Still unknown is what caused the fire.

Just before 1:30 this morning, fire ripped through the house on Nickel street in Port Colborne while 6 people were inside. 2 men managed to escape, but four people were killed including 83 year old Eva Burd.

“My girlfriend called me and told my my moms house was on fire.” By the time Carol Collard got to her mom’s house, it was already engulfed in flames.
“She was carried out by firefighters, but she was already gone.”

Everyone in the house was related. Family members say the other victims were 37 year old Tammy Burd, her two children 15 year old Samantha and 2 year old Joshua.
