Halton police are investigating a shooting homicide in Oakville that happened early Friday morning.

On Aug. 19, at around 1:00 a.m., police were called to the area of Belt Lane and Littlefield Road in Oakville following numerous calls reporting suspected gun shots.

Police say they found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say early information indicates the two were targeted by the shooter.

The suspect(s) fled the scene in a vehicle shortly after the shooting.
