Niagara police say thief targeted unlocked homes in Lincoln

First Published:

Niagara police are reminding residents to lock their doors after items were stolen from six separate residences in Lincoln on Wednesday.

The homes that reported items stolen are in the area of John St., Dennis Ave. and Arejay Ave.

Police say the male suspect did not cause any damage to the homes and only targeted properties with open gates and doors.

Considering the large quantity of items stolen, officers believe the suspect had a vehicle nearby.

The suspect stole electronics, cash, tools, alcohol, vehicle keys, wallets and purses with a total value loss exceeding $20,000.

Police say one homeowner awoke to find the suspect in her home on John St. before he ran eastbound from the home towards Bartlett St.

A Niagara police canine unit responded to the scene but were not able to find the suspect.
